(Virtual) Edge Computing World Europe

March 9, 2021 - March 11, 2021

Edge Computing World Europe will take place virtually on March 9-11. LF Edge will participate in the Developer’s Conference on March 9. Register with our code “LFEDGEVIP.”

4-4:30 pm CET Arpit Joshipura, General Manager of Networking, IoT and Edge at the Linux Foundation, will kick off an hour-long presentation with a talk about how LF Edge is accelerating the edge ecosystem. His overview will pave the way for three use cases from LF Edge project’s EVE, EdgeX Foundry and Fledge.

4:30 -4:50 pm CET: Jason Shepherd, LF Edge Governing Board member and Vice President of Ecosystem at ZEDEDA, will present a case study of PeopleFlo Manufacturing, whose MachineEdge solution optimizes the operation of pump systems through real-time edge intelligence, AI, and automation. They rely on EVE-OS, developed within Project EVE in LF Edge, as an open foundation in order to promote interoperability among an ecosystem of hardware and software partners, and make possible a granular level of control proven to reduce energy use, lengthen the useful life of the pump, lower costs, and generate data that allows for local and remote monitoring and maintenance. EVE-OS provides a flexible architecture that gives PeopleFlo the freedom to adopt new technologies over time so they can focus investment on addressing their customer’s unique requirements.

4:50 – 5:10 pm CET: Sandip Kamat, EdgeX Foundry Contributor and Global Product Management & Strategy at HP, will present the first global retail solution powered by LF Edge’s EdgeX Foundry. Based on the EdgeX framework, HP’s on-premise edge compute device can accelerate sensor-based Edge & analytics solutions to better manage and monitor business metrics like inventory management, promotion effectiveness, loss prevention and customer engagement.

5:10- 5:30 pm CET Tom Arthur , LF Edge Governing Board member and CEO at Dianomic, and Chris Bainter, VP Global Business Development at FLIR Systems, will present how Fledge is ideal for edge based ML, data aggregating, translating, processing, filtering, alerting and forwarding. Fledge’s plugin architecture tightly integrates IIoT applications with existing OT and IT systems (Historians, OEE, MES, ERP, etc.), processes and clouds. In this presentation, Tom and Chris will discuss how FLIR uses Fledge.
