Description:

Virtualization is coming to the edge through a number of open source projects like LF Edge’s Project EVE (Edge Virtualization Engine) and EdgeX Foundry as well as the Apache PLC4x project.  Project EVE allows for the virtualization and freedom of running on any hardware with no touch updates.  EdgeX Foundry can run on top EVE and gives you a common open framework for building IoT applications.  And Apache’s PLC4x brings its set of libraries that allow for unified access across PLCs, while using EVE as its runtime.
